Virus and Your Mobile Phone

Author: Vinay Rana

This is not an uncommon situation when you have heard from somebody that his mobile phone has been infected with virus. Symbian operating system is the favorite operating system of all major companies. (Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola are few examples). The mobile viruses generally infect the system files of the mobile, resulting into the slow performance of mobile. Sometimes it even hangs up the mobile phone.

The virus in mobile may result into un-necessary sending of messages from the device to all numbers present in the phonebook and sometimes it even transfer files to nearer mobiles with help of bluetooth technology.

Steps to be taken to prevent virus attack on the mobile.
We should keep the bluetooth switched off, when not in use.
We should not open messages from any unknown person.
We should not install or download any software, games or ring tones from any unauthorized place or website.
We should have a good anti virus installed on our mobile.

But most of the mobiles which are not symbian based or which are not 3G are not infected with viruses. Some of famous mobile viruses are Cabir, Comwar and skulls.

A lot of research has to be done in this field, to get a perfect solution.

Take Care,
