Mostly people think that Mangalik factor is dangerous but it is not the fact. There are twelve houses in a horscope and if Mars is in the first, second, fourth, seventh, eighth and twelfth house then is said to be Mangal Dosha. So out of 12 houses there are six houses where the position of Mars is said to cause Manglik factor. Hence the ratio of Manglik and non - Manglik is 50:50.

Actually Mars is a planet of boldness in nature. It gives domination, aggressive and quarrelsome nature to the person. When its aspects are present in the seventh house then produces quarrel between the husband-wife. It is planet of oversex drive also.

These all factors reduce the peace in married life. This notion that if there is a
Mangal Dosha in a horoscope then the partner will die, is absolutely non acceptable. It happens in that case where Mars is heavily afflicated and there are more than two afflictions to seventh house.

According to some astrologers that Mars becomes powerless after the age of twenty eight years. So that is why some astrologers ask to wait till the completion of 28th year of the person to marry. But logically it is not acceptable, Mars wil show its effect in its period/subperiod.

The best way to reduce the Mars Dosha is to match the horoscope of both partners. Mars in the same position will reduce the Dosha but not nullify it certainly. Most of the time it is seen that if a boy is having Mangal Dosha and girl is also having Mangal Dosha in her horoscope then the cancellation of Mangal Dosha is judged without consideration of the houses in which Mars is present. But actually it is observed that only presence of Mangal Dosha in both the horoscopes would not reduce the effect of Mangal Dosha the horoscopes. Mars should be in the same house of both the partners. e.g., If a boy has Mars in his fourth house then girl should also have the Mars in her fourth house.
