Are you a weather watcher and have become quite intrigued during this record breaking Hurricane Season. Well you are not alone, the National Weather Service has been breaking records too. The most flights over Hurricanes, most page views on their website and the most weather to report on. Hurricane "Gamma" pronounced "gama" is the third letter of the Greek Alphabet after "Beta" pronounced "bay-ta," next is "delta" pronounced just like the Airline, which just filed bankruptcy. Who would want to fly in this weather anyway? Tropical Depressions form to make tropical storms; that is if they meet the criteria of rotation, strength and energy. If their winds surpass 74 miles per hour then they become a Hurricane. As they increase in speed they the move from a Category One Hurricane which starts at 75 miles per hour to a Category II and then so on. Hurricane Gamma is forming and should make the 75-mile per hour storm requirement and that is when they become dangerous, as it seems most just keep growing in size and speed. We all know what happens when they grow too fast or too large, too soon; as we remember Hurricanes Andrew, Katrina, Rita and of course Wilma. What will Hurricane Gamma bring us? Only time will tell, but don't count this out just yet. Think on this. |
