Guarding Our Borders With Lethal Force

Author: Lance Winslow

Does it make sense to guard our borders with guns and National Guardsmen to shoot illegal aliens and illegal immigrant crossers? Does it makes sense to shoot drug runners, mules, coyotes and International Terrorists pretending to be Mexican illegal aliens crossing into the United States? Does it make sense to shoot anyone crossing our border illegally provided they have been warned in advance?

Would lethal force at the border stop the 2 million illegal aliens illegally entering our nation each year and breaking our laws by illegally sneaking over our borders? Some believe that the only way to enforce the borders is to have open season on illegal aliens with no head counts or quotas.

Well on the human rights side one might say that is troublesome and problematic, yet on the reality check side one could say, it makes a lot of sense and if we did that no one would try to cross again? Sure a few people would get killed but by the time the News Media made a spectacle of it, surely the word would get around and people would stop trying to cross illegally.

Does that mean we should put National Guardsmen with sniper rifles on the borders? Well perhaps, but it seems that the current plan to use a non-lethal virtual fence using various sound waves, microwaves and anti-human crossing waves might be better. So maybe we should try the virtual fence first and if that does not work then go to plan B? Consider this in 2006.
